Astrophysicist (Stockholm University) | Co-Founder, Ocean X Team
About
Dr. Beatriz Villarroel is a Spanish-Swedish astrophysicist at Stockholm University and the Nordita Institute whose research has taken a dramatic turn: she is now systematically searching historical sky surveys for evidence that objects in our solar system vanish — stars that appear in one photographic plate and simply don't exist in the next. Her VASCO (Vanishing & Appearing Sources during a Century of Observations) project has identified hundreds of such anomalies that have no conventional astrophysical explanation. She has proposed that some of these disappearing objects may be evidence of advanced extraterrestrial technology — probes, structures, or events beyond current physics. Dennis Åsberg is the co-founder of the Ocean X Team, the Swedish underwater exploration group that discovered the mysterious Baltic Sea Anomaly — a 60-meter disc-shaped formation at the bottom of the Baltic Sea that has defied conventional geological explanation since its discovery in 2011. Together, Villarroel and Åsberg represent a rare combination of academic rigor and hands-on anomaly investigation.
Sessions at CITD 2026
[LECTURE]
Lecture with Dr. Beatriz Villarroel and Dennis Åsberg
Presenting new findings from the VASCO project on vanishing astronomical objects, and an update on ongoing investigations into unexplained anomalies both in space and in Earth's oceans.
[WORKSHOP]
Workshop with Dr. Beatriz Villarroel and Dennis Åsberg
An in-depth session on methods, evidence, and next steps in the search for non-human artifacts — from the seafloor to deep space.
[PANEL]
Disclosure: The Edge of Tomorrow
The fight for public knowledge of UFOs has been a long, relentless, and uphill battle. UAP whistleblowers and front-line advocates have risked everything to expose the reality behind UFOs. These brave individuals have endured the risk of their reputation, pushback, personal threats, and professional ruin to bring hidden encounters into the light, and to protect those willing to share their testimony. From cockpit sightings to Navy encounters, they reveal what it really takes to fight for disclosure—and what happens when secrets are challenged. This panel uncovers the untold stories of courage, danger, and the relentless pursuit of answers in a world where the skies hold mysteries that powerful forces would rather keep hidden.
